Our Story
The art of story telling. There is his-side, her-side, and the truth. When asked, "How did you two meet?" there are several different answers that may come up. We both attended The Great Bethune-Cookman University and were a part of the "Pride", the institution's marching band. We would speak randomly but did nothing too deep. As you will see, the differences begin after college.
Her Story
They say timing is everything and that seems to be the case with Derrick and I. Although we went to college together, we only spoke in passing. One day we went to a mutual friend's party where our paths crossed again after we had graduated. Derrick really tried his best to get my attention but I wouldnt pay "Fambro" any mind. I continued to party on with Camilo as we joked about the situation and the many "stories" he seemed to have. Camilo and I came back to the table and sat down with Derrick and Fred to chat and take a picture. Camilo and Fred were on one side of the table and I sat next to Derrick. When the picture was taken, Camilo and Fred were smiling and enjoying themselves, where I had to quickly veer off from Derrick trying to get too close. After that night, when the picture was posted on Facebook, the world saw the joke of the night, "Derrick trying to taste the chocolate drop sitting next to him". Derrick and I continued to speak through Facebook as I would not give him my phone number. Derrick remained persistent and I eventually gave in. Later on that year, I celebrated my 23rd birthday and Derrick came at the end of the party to "show his face". When my cousin could not drive her car, Derrick offered to do so for her. To me, this was not enough to be impressed until one day when I fell ill... Derrick traveled to the store and brought me back a humidifier, cold medicine, and juice. From that moment on, I thought okay, he is a little sweetheart. Everything else is history!
His Story

The one and only story. I still remember the first time I saw Jasmine. I was walking out of band practice and all of the new 14k dancers were in the hall standing in line. I only remember the face of one and that was Jasmine. Let's just say I could tell she had a rough day. EXTREMELY ROUGH. Years passed of "Hi" and "Bye" until a cold day in August. We were all at Luckie celebrating my boy Reggie birthday. I had on the red & black 11's (Jordan's) so I knew it would be a good night. After walking in it didn't take long before Jasmine found her way to the seat next to me and by the end of the night I knew she had become intrigued. I kept it cool though and left without asking for her number. Within a few days we were secretly messaging on Facebook while publicly she was pretending to be uninterested. Within a month it was obvious to those close to us that we had something going on. On her birthday while everyone was expecting me to make a grand entrance at her party I was at work directly across the street. Me being tired and the woman of my dreams celebrating her birthday across the street I did what any sane person would do. I went home to get some rest. However, Jasmine was not going to settle for that. She enlisted her cousin with the old damsel in distress routine which I fell for. After saving Jasmine and Cori our story really began.
The Bride
I grew up in Stone Mountain/Lithonia for a large part of my childhood to Carmen Cooper-Crenshaw and Bennie Cade. I have an older sister, Janean, who enjoys daily texts and rants from her baby sister! What would she do without me!? =)
I enjoy shopping, traveling, dancing, and for the past three years spending time with my other half. I attended The GREAT Bethune-Cookman University where I met the "stranger" as we were both were a part of the marching band, him playing saxsophone and me as a dancer.
Currently, I am in Graduate School at Mercer University and I spend my free time studying and traveling between Atlanta and Savannah where Derrick lives. Luckily I love traveling ;).
I am extremely excited to marry my man under God, my best friend, my doctor, my support system, my all! I am eager to embark on this journey with you and I LOVE YOU FOREVER FAMBRO.

Marriage Proposal
When Jasmine and I first started dating I knew she was the one. However, it wasn’t until the beautiful day of March 8 2014 that I started planning our engagement. I had just got my haircut from my barber Mone of about 16 years and like always not only did I leave with a fresh cut but a little wiser. I was driving down highway 78 and something came over me and I felt like it was time. I remember Jasmine was upset with me about something that she felt I did wrong and of course I felt like she was overreacting so I wasn’t that happy with her either. I told myself if I could be this upset with someone and marrying them still crossed my mind then she had to be the one. After going to a few jewelry stores I found the ring that I thought was “the one”. Before I finalized my decision I consulted with a few people that I felt would give me the best advice. So, thank you to my mom, Janean, Woodrow, Chris, TJ and Ashlei. After purchasing the ring of course it had to be resized and that’s where Macy came in. She was able to get Jasmine's ring size without her suspecting a thing. A few days later Jasmine put a wrench in the entire plan. She told me that the Falcons ring that she had on that Macy got her size from only fits her middle finger. So after about 3 arguments from me trying to indirectly get her ring size and her never answering whether it was size 5 or 4.75 I finally just went with the larger size. While the ring was getting sized I went into planning mode. I knew Jasmine wanted a big engagement party and I was determined to give it to her. I figured the day after my birthday April 12 was the perfect date. I could plan a big party undercover of my birthday but the day would actual be for my little lady. Unfortunately, other things came in the way. I received a promotion and within a week I was now in Savannah, GA. Even though I was still planning, it became more and more evident that living 4 hours away was going to make this huge engagement impossible. So I held the ring for about 4 months before I “popped the question”. Jasmine had come down to Savannah for the weekend and I was thinking it was now or never. I knew the football season would be starting soon and school was back in session, meaning I would see her less. I didn’t want to go even longer with Jasmine not knowing I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. So that night once again, I don’t remember why but Jasmine was upset with me about something and of course I didn’t think I was wrong so I wasn’t that happy with her either. However, in the midst of being upset I still felt like I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. Now being in Savannah, there was really no place that resonated as "our spot" except our home. On this day, we would make new memories! Whether we are in Atlanta, Savannah, or anywhere else that life takes us, the one place that I will want to be is waking up next to my little lady. That morning, I got down on one knee and asked Jasmine to marry me! We then got dressed and I spent the day recreating all of our "uncompleted dates" Savannah-style. Jasmine loves to paint pottery, and we never finished paiting the pottery from our first date. We used this time to create engagement announcement mugs. We then went to dinner on River Street overlooking the historic beauty of Savannah where Jasmine fell in love with the pianist so we lingered around a tad longer than anticipated. Lastly, we walked River Street proceeding to make our own fun and enjoyed each other's company.
The Groom
I grew up in East Atlanta and later moved to Stone Mountain during my teenage years. I am the oldest son of Derrick and Alvita Fambro. I have a younger brother Travis Fambro who spent most of his childhood getting me in trouble. You only get one brother and I could not ask for a better one.
I enjoy relaxing, good food, road trips and most of all, College Football. The past few years I have been focusing on my career as well as building a future for and with my little lady. I met Jasmine while we were both in our college marching band. Jasmine and I had many mutual friends but we knew very little of each other.
Currently I am operating my own store in Savannah, GA. I spend my free time sleeping, eating, playing with my 2 pups and spending as much time with Jasmine as possible.
I am very excited to have found the woman I dreamed and prayed for. I am excited knowing that we will build a legacy together. So Jasmine take my hand love this life is on me.
